Nowadays we know Cultuurpodium De Boerderij on the Amerikaweg as a location for great concerts and live performances. But in the past, as from the 1970s, De Boerderij was a youth center with accommodation in an old farm on Voorweg 146.
At that time, the youth center was a meeting place for young people where pleasant evenings and afternoons were organised. Table tennis, disco evenings, workshops and other festivities were organized there for young people. Later, live performances and parties such as Meet Me were added. Single-family homes were eventually built in the old farm and the new-build location on Amerikaweg opened.
