Wat ‘n Kunst festival coincides with the reopening of the center of Roden

Next weekend there will be a double party in Roden. Not only is the village dominated by a festival throughout the weekend What an artthe Roner center will also be officially reopened.

The Wat ‘n Kunst festival has been an integral part of the Roner program for years now. A cultural conclusion to the summer with art, music, stand-up comedy, dance and singing. “It is already the sixth time this year,” says organizer Piet van Houten. “Whereas in the past we sometimes spent three days over the festival, we have now opted for two days, so next Saturday and Sunday.”

Saturday is all about music, with performances by Noordenveld stars such as Zoë Tauran, Ellen ten Damme and Tony Neef. “These are established artists who have their roots in our municipality,” says Van Houten. “But we also offer a stage to young talent.”

A total of sixty young people are taking part in the ‘podium programme’. They sing with established names and get the chance to show their talent. In addition, there is a Noordenveldse uitmarkt on Saturday. “There, among other things, theater De Winsinghhof will show what the coming theater season has to offer and association life will have the opportunity to show itself.”

The Sunday is then devoted to the art market, where visitors can watch demonstrations by artists or participate in workshops. “At the end of the afternoon there is the Walking Dinner along several Roner restaurants,” says Van Houten. “A valued tradition for years.”
