It’s a heartbreaking look: Freddie looks into the camera like a teddy bear. Now the miniature poodle is gone.
Sunday evening around 9 p.m. in the Weinbergspark in Mitte: Ehssan Dariani (42) plays fetch with his dog. A quick glance at the phone, a moment of inattention. Suddenly Freddie is gone. Dariani’s guess: his dog was kidnapped. “He’s like a child to me,” says the master.
He and his girlfriend have been hanging up search posters in the city since Monday, and they are also busy looking on Instagram. At least a small success: A woman observed two young men on Sunday evening around 11:30 p.m. on the U9 towards Osloer Straße (Wedding) wanting to give away a dog – and it looked like Freddie.
Other witnesses saw a suspicious young man in a Lidl branch in Spandau the next morning. He is said to have been in the discount store with a dog that also bore a resemblance to Freddie. The man is said to have been thrown out of the store because of the dog.
Ehssan Dariani wants nothing more than to hold his beloved dog in his arms again, “We have reported them, but they will withdraw as soon as Freddie is back with us.” He has offered a reward of 500 euros.
