Still five positions in the Munger depot
A position drastically reduced
Portfolio value of $212.6 million
Munger’s depot relatively static
The portfolio of Warren Buffett’s right-hand man, Berkshire Hathaway Vice President Charlie Munger, once again changed little compared to the previous quarter. Since the invested assets exceed a value of 100 million US dollars, the 98-year-old has to submit the 13F form to the US Securities and Exchange Commission every three months and disclose his investments.
5th place: POSCO
POSCO has been in Charlie Munger’s depot since the fourth quarter of 2013. As in the previous quarter, Munger held 9,745 shares in the steel group in the first quarter of 2022. As of the reporting date, these were valued at $577,000. Compared to Q4, however, the value of the investment has increased by around 1.58 percent.
4th place: US Bancorp
US Bancorp’s holdings make up 3.5 percent of Munger’s portfolio. Here, too, the stock market expert left the participation unchanged. The 140,000 shares were valued at approximately $7.441 million as of the reporting date, down 5.37 percent from three months earlier.
3rd place: Alibaba
Amazon’s competitor Alibaba is in third place. Munger drastically reduced this position in the first quarter of 2022: the 98-year-old threw 302,060 Alibaba shares out of his portfolio. Munger now holds 300,000 shares worth approximately $32.64 million.
2nd place: Wells Fargo
In second place is a US financial company: Wells Fargo. As in the fourth quarter, Munger holds 1,591,800 shares of Wells Fargo valued at approximately $76.374 million (a one percent increase in value sequentially).
1st place: Bank of America
In the first quarter of 2022, Charlie Munger will remain true to his top investment. The Berkshire vice president has held shares in Bank of America since the fourth quarter of 2013. The number of shares remained unchanged: 2,300,000 BofA shares are in the portfolio. However, at $94.806 million as of March 31, 2022, the stake was down 7.35 percent.
