On May 6th Warpaint released their new album RADIATE LIKE THIS. ME author Nina Töllner found it seems a little more concentrated than its predecessor. The dynamics work well, “also because the quartet dares to take a step towards real feeling with the shimmering, slender R’n’B number “Stevie” and the pretty piano ballad “Trouble”.
Originally, after their album HEAD UP, released in 2016, a completely different one should have been planned. Her first new single, ‘Champion’, released in January 2022, is about ‘being a champion for yourself and for others.’ Warpaint adds: ‘We’re all in the same boat, life is too short to not striving for excellence in everything we do.”
In addition to their own headlining tours, Warpaint can also look back on concert appearances alongside Vampire Weekend and The XX. Earlier this year, Emily Kokal, Jenny Lee Lindberg, Stella Mozgawa and Theresa Wayman announced Germany concerts in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. They are finally imminent, presented by Musikexpress.
