Oliver Kahn responded to Robert Lewandowski’s breakup statement.
Legendary German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, who is the chairman of the executive board of Bayern Munich, one of the German Bundesliga teams, stated that he wanted to leave the team while he was with the Polish National Team and said, “I hope it won’t be blocked”, Robert Lewandowski made a statement on the subject.
Answering the questions of Sport1 from the German press, Kahn said: “I can’t tell you why Robert took this route to talk about his future. Press statements like this don’t do you any good. Robert got where he is now while he’s here. I think he needs to realize what he has at Bayern. Understanding is not a one-sided thing.”
It is not known whether Bayern will approve the sale of Lewandowski, but the player’s contract will expire at the end of next season.
Lewandowski’s statements were as follows: “As of now, my story at Bayern is definitely over. After what we’ve been through with the club in the past months, I don’t think we can work together again. I think my transfer is the best option for everyone. Bayern Munich is a serious club and I hope they keep me forcibly at the club just because they have the right to do so. “They won’t try and prevent my transfer. I hope they don’t try to stop me.”
