The German Weather Service is warning of severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, locally also “stormy” heavy rain, starting this (Thursday) afternoon.
According to the DWD, the eastern parts of Brandenburg and the Berlin area should be particularly affected.
There is a risk of individual strong heat thunderstorms with heavy rain of up to 25 liters per square meter in a short time, gusts of wind up to 80 km/h and hail. Even amounts of rain up to 40 liters per square meter are not excluded.
In the night to Friday there will be further showery, partly thundery precipitation from the south with the potential for heavy rain.
On Friday morning, most of the precipitation is then expected to move northwards.
