In our province, among others, the KNMI warns for strong thunderstorms from noon to early evening on Thursday. The thunderstorms can be accompanied by wind gusts of sixty to seventy kilometers per hour, hail and a lot of rain in a short time. Reason for the meteorological institute to issue code yellow for our province from 12 to 6 p.m.
Our weatherman Johnny Willemsen from Weerplaza expects that the real storm will remain south of us. Although we can also expect some rain and thunder, according to him. “The models do not agree with each other,” he says in the program Wakker! on Omroep Brabant radio. “That makes it difficult to give a forecast for today.”
On Thursday morning it was already sunny around eight o’clock and about 18 degrees. That temperature will quickly rise to about 25 degrees in most places in our province, but perhaps 28 degrees in the east. Then it is this afternoon, according to Willemsen, so wait and see whether it will really go wild. “A large storm complex is moving from Normandy in France towards Belgium and perhaps also a bit our way,” he explains.
“During the weekend house, garden and kitchen showers, but also sun.”
This weekend does not look bad according to the weatherman. With a degree of 20 to 21 it is certainly not summer. However, the sun will show itself. The few ‘house, garden and kitchen showers’, as Willemsen calls them, do not change that.
