Warm weather with a lot of wind attracts many water sports enthusiasts, “looks like summer”

It is quite lively this afternoon on the beaches of Wijk aan Zee and Zandvoort. Day trippers walk around in shorts and sunglasses, take a refreshing dip and some daredevils head into the waves with their surfboard.

Many beachgoers walk with shorts and sunglasses in their hair along the water of Zandvoort and Wijk aan Zee. And right they are!

It is now “slowly getting really warmer,” says NH weatherman Jan Visser. “This weekend it will be nice weather with lots of sun. Today with temperatures around 21 degrees.” And tomorrow? “Then between 19 and 20 degrees.”

Daredevils

Daredevils have also known that the weather is nice. Because the wind continues to blow from the northeast, this leads to a lot of fun at sea. The daredevils flock into the water with their surfboards and attract a lot of attention.

For the less brave dodos who prefer to stay on the side, it can feel a bit chilly. Jan Visser also sees this: ”The water is only 14 degrees and the wind is present. Although the sun is nice and warm, the wind can still be treacherous.”

The weather will certainly remain nice until June 11, says Visser. “Until then it will certainly be nice with warm temperatures and it will remain dry.”
