The peloton will start on Tuesday in Avola, in the southeast of Sicily. The race will then take place under dry conditions towards Mount Etna. Wednesday will be driven from Catania to Messina. Even then it is a sunny and warm day with temperatures of 22 to 24 degrees. On Thursday the cyclists will make the crossing to the mainland and the Giro will continue with a ride from Palmi to Scalea. Weekend

The seventh stage takes the riders from Diamante to Potenza on Friday. This mountain stage will again be dry with a lot of sunshine. The temperature is around 22 degrees, but in the higher areas the mercury can be a few degrees lower.

The stages in the weekend are not much different from the ones before that. Saturday will be driven around Naples, with a number of laps on Monte di Procida. There is a moderate southerly wind and it will be about 24 degrees. On Sunday, the peloton will drive from Isernia to Blockhaus. It will also remain dry during this mountain stage and the sun will make an appearance. With 22 degrees it is slightly more pleasant than Saturday.

The Giro d’Italia started last Friday with a flat stage from the Hungarian capital Budapest to the city of Visegrád. This was won by the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel. The Alpecin-Fenix ​​rider will start the fourth stage on Tuesday as a rose jersey wearer.
