The Swedish clothing branchist warehouse 157 further expands its location network in Germany and opens up three new shops.
The company, which entered the German market around nine months ago, is planning three new openings in 2026 with Essen, Hanover and Kaiserslautern, Lager 157 announced on Tuesday.
It starts at the beginning of the year, where the second German store will open its doors on Limbecker Platz – the former location of the Galeria department store group. On around 3,000 square meters of retail space, fashion basics for women, men and children are to be offered in the basement of the Mode-Basics shopping center.
With the openings in Hanover – which is intended for May – and Kaiserslautern in November, camp 157 is expanding its presence in Germany at four locations. In parallel to the first shop, which was opened in Bremen last December, the web shop in Germany and thus the first e-commerce page outside of the Nordics went online.
“Germany is a key market in Europe for us”
“The response to our offer is very positive so far. Germany is a key market in Europe for us,” says Stefan Palm, CEO of warehouse 157. “We see great potential here and are very happy to be able to announce food as a further important location.”
In addition to Germany and Sweden, the company, founded by Palm in 1999, is currently also represented in Norway, Finland and Denmark. In total, the branchist operates 93 stores, including 59 in the home market, and employs around 3,000 employees. In 2024, sales were 3.6 billion Swedish crowns (323 million euros).
For Palm, however, Germany is only the beginning for its expansion strategy in Europe: “To be successful in Europe, you have to be successful in Germany. This is also part of our future goal of being a global brand,” said the corporate boss about the market entry towards Fashionunited.
