Waregem streets drown after storm

Especially the Ring of Waregem and the Zultseweg will have a hard time. In some places, 30 liters of water per square meter is possible, making many lanes difficult to drive on.

The Fluvia fire brigade has already received more than 100 calls for flooding. Often the fire service cannot do much and architectural solutions are necessary. Westhoek and Midwest fire zones received only a handful of calls. The south of West Flanders in particular will be hit hard.

In the course of the afternoon it will become drier in the west with more clear spells. From 3 p.m., code yellow no longer applies.
