Waregem, Kortrijk and Roeselare look back with satisfaction on the Christmas holidays

A roller skating rink and other alternatives are clearly much less popular as an alternative to a skating rink. But the removal of the ice rinks apparently had no consequences for the number of visitors and it has saved the city coffers more than 50,000 euros.

Waregem

In Waregem, the ice rink was replaced by a roller skating rink that could count on half as many visitors as last year. But that had no effect on the number of visitors in the end-of-year period. A survey of 60 retailers shows that they have achieved the same or greater turnover compared to last year. Winter in Waregem was already a success.

Kortrijk

Kortrijk does not yet have any visitor figures, but it seems that the turnout is not lower than last year in the end-of-year period. No one apparently missed the skating rink, although the alternative, the maze, was perhaps less popular.

Roeselare

Roeselare’s figures indicate that 300,000 visitors came to the city center, of which more than 2,000 people took a ride on the Ferris wheel.
