Most people are counting down the days until retirement, but until recently 88-year-old American Ed Bambas simply worked behind the counter at a supermarket in Detroit five days a week. Not because he liked it that much, but because he had no choice. His pension disappeared years ago like snow in the sun. And so the former soldier continued to work stoically.
