Gas rose in Germany in the second semester by 51.8% in institutions and companies
Non-household customers, mainly companies and public bodies, paid 51.8% more for gas in Germany in the second half of 2021 than in the first six months of the year, compared to a price increase of 6.6% in the case of households. Thus, non-domestic customers paid an average of 4.63 cents per kilowatt hour of natural gas in the second half of the year, not including VAT or other deductible taxes, according to data published today by the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis). Within this group of customers, those with a low annual consumption of between 1,000 and 10,000 gigajoules paid 4.45 cents per kilowatt hour, 9.9% more, while those who consume more than 4 million gigajoules had to pay even 126.3% more, with prices of 5.68 cents per kilowatt hour.
