Since Putin’s troops moved into Ukraine, interest in military service has been rising. On average, the number of job applications at Defense is around 350 per week, now there are 736.

Interest is mainly focused on positions in the commandos, the infantry and the military police. More people also want to sign up as reservists.

Applicants mainly come from the major cities, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. The least interest for the time being is from North Brabant. Defense thinks it is a result of the carnival.

Due to the war in Ukraine, Defense has not conducted an active online recruitment campaign on news sites in recent days.
