War continues to be an issue at fashion week

The war in Ukraine continues to play a role at Berlin Fashion Week. On the second day of the fashion week, the Ukrainian label Litkovska presented its collection in the Berlin power station. The association with subway shafts in which Ukrainians stayed during the bombing is intentional. “We made this wonderful collection during the bombings in Kiev,” the designer told the German Press Agency on Tuesday.

“I want to place creativity and something beautiful in this industrial, empty and functional place.” Visibly emotionally touched, Litkovska also explained the meaning of the accessories in her collection. Among other things, there were little horses that seemed to be kneaded by children. “It’s an old one Ukrainian tradition from the Carpathians to knead little horses out of cheese for good luck.”

Designer Kristina Bobkova presented her very feminine collection on Monday. “The Bobkova woman is strong, feminine and brave. At the same time she is defenseless, saves her children and is part of the army. She shows her strength and her defenselessness at the same time,” explained the designer with tears in her eyes.(dpa )
