Wanted: witnesses to fatal shooting incident Diksmuide
On Sunday evening, a motorcyclist was shot dead at the Yser in Stuivekenskerke between half past eight and nine o’clock. The shots were fired at house numbers 93-95. Afterwards, there were a dozen bullet casings on the ground and probably more than six bullets hit the 28-year-old man from Koekelare. The victim’s 54-year-old father-in-law has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The Veurne department of the public prosecutor’s office of West Flanders and the police are now calling for witnesses to the tragic event. They also target local residents or passers-by who would have footage of the facts on their mobile phone or dashcam.
The police are also asking three key witnesses to come forward. It concerns the drivers of two light-colored delivery vans and one passenger car that were driving towards Nieuwpoort at the time of the shooting.
