Wanted: vaccines against E. coli bacteria. “More and more strains are resistant to antibiotics”

Bacteria are becoming increasingly dangerous because they are increasingly resistant to antibiotics. This also applies to the E. coli bacteria. Although E. coli bacteria often live completely harmlessly in our intestines, certain strains cause serious and very different medical problems. Scientists are therefore looking for vaccines that can protect us against this common type of bacteria. But that doesn’t always turn out to be easy.
