Wanted: owner of ‘train cats’ | Inland

The young adult male and female cat were found last week in the toilet of a train traveling from Rotterdam-Lombardijen station in the direction of Schiedam. A traveler took care of the terrified beasts that were in a bag and took the duo home. A day later they were transferred by the animal ambulance to the animal shelter in Spijkenisse.

“Fortunately, the animals are now doing well,” says asylum worker Angelique. “In the beginning they were very anxious. But if you take the time for them, they will soon cuddle up to you.”

The animal shelter has reported the remarkable find on social media in hopes of identifying its owner. “It often happens that animals are accidentally left somewhere. Now that after a week no one has reported yet, we can unfortunately assume that there is deliberate intent.”

The two 'train cats' have been lovingly taken care of.

The ‘train cats’ turned out not to have a chip and they have not yet been spayed and neutered. “That will happen if the legal period of fourteen days has passed and the owner has still not been found. After that they can be relocated.” However, the animals have now been given names: Macho and Kiara. Although the chance of this is becoming less and less, it is hoped that the owner will still report.
