Walrus Thor swims past the Belgian coast

Walruses normally live among the drift ice in the Arctic Ocean. It is therefore quite exceptional that one has strayed to the North Sea. This walrus was first spotted on the beach of Petten in North Holland. There the colossus was given the name Thor. From Petten Thor traveled to Neeltje Jans in Zeeland and then rested on the beach of Westkapelle. The walrus currently resides off the coast of Dieppe, in Normandy. That means that Thor swam quietly past our coast.
