The incident took place around 7:00 p.m. in a Lidl corner in the town of Jeumont, on the Belgian border. Two slachtoffers raakten zwaargewond. Ook de dader zelf liep verwondingen op. Het motief van de dader is still onduidelijk.
The twaalf mensen, and like four children, who were at the moment of the incident in the Winkel aanwezig, were treated in the building of het gemeentehuis van Jeumont en krijgen psychological status.
