Wallace warned Shoigu about the tragic consequences of the invasion of Ukraine

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, made it clear that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine would have tragic consequences.

“I was clear about the tragic consequences that an invasion of Ukraine would have on all citizens, both Ukraine and Russia, as well as security in Europe,” Wallace said.

He noted that he had heard assurances from Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov that Russia was not planning an attack on Ukraine. “If they tell me that they do not intend to invade Ukraine, I take it seriously and trust it,” the minister said.
