ci have been there study holidays, then the summers between surf courses and playgrounds, this year instead the holidays will be spent socializing with friends and enjoying the beauty of the area. As? Walking. Yes, one of the novelties of this summer 2023 are the paths for children.
On holiday walking: paths for children
After all the benefits of walking are now more than demonstrated, just as the force that smartphones and streaming TV have on teenagers is increasingly evident, more and more at home and less and less outdoors. For this, in the summer of 2023 we will try to make walking and traveling on foot cool.
Experience outdoor adventures in contact with nature
Many experiences are offered to the children: from building a hut to climbing a steep slope, from observing the footprints of animals to diving into a stream. Adventures in contact with nature to offer young people the opportunity to discover what’s away from smartphones.
Walks for children and teenagers
Among the proposals of Walking Company, an association that promotes responsible tourism, there are adventure trips on foot for children and adolescents aged 4 to 17, with or without parents. The excursions can last from 3 to 7 days, they can be permanent or itinerant with overnight stays in spartan structures, or in tents.
Discovering the fox and on the trail of the wolf
We go from the “Wildfox” path for July and August dedicated to children aged 13 to 17, without parents, on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in search of wild foxes between the provinces of Pistoia and Prato, to that “Into the Wild – Sibillini”in Marche.
It is a journey through green woods, plateaus and plains, bole and small villages organized in English, but it is not a language course at all. Still there is “the path of the wolf”on foot along the Italian-French border on the trail of wolves between the Maritime Alps and the Mercantour natural park, in France.
Not just walks, but a philosophy of life
Paths don’t begin and end, because at the base they have a philosophy of life that puts our health and that of our mother Earth at the centre which leads to avoiding polluting ourselves and our common home.
But that’s not all: because it leads to enhancing organic, natural and local product-based eating and meeting people who live in the places where you go for a walk. Which are the foundations of responsible tourism: respect for nature, for others, working for a more supportive economy, considering travel as experiences and moments of growth.
