Third division football team Waldhof Mannheim has impressively stopped its negative trend and is staying in touch with the non-relegation places.
In the basement duel at Halleschen FC, coach Rüdiger Rehm’s team won 4-1 (1-0) and moved up to 17th place in the table with 23 points.
Mannheim lost the first two games in 2024. Halle is still in 16th place (24 points).
Former HFC striker Terrence Boyd, who came from 1. FC Kaiserslautern two weeks ago, scored twice (25th/66th) for Mannheim.
Jalen Hawkins (48th) and Fridolin Wagner (68th) were also successful for the guests.
After a red card against Malte Karbstein (83rd/Emergency Brake), Jonas Nietfeld (84th) converted the penalty for Halle.
