Returned from SVS in 2019
Captain Marcel Seegert will remain loyal to SV Waldhof Mannheim even after the end of the season. As the candidate for promotion to the second division announced on Monday, the 27-year-old central defender has extended his expiring contract. The traditional club did not provide any information about the new term.
“This is my home and I’m incredibly proud to put on the jersey with the rhombus, to hear the Waldhof anthem at the entrance and to give my 110 percent commitment on the field,” said Seegert, who in January 2019 after a had returned to his youth club after a year-and-a-half interlude at SV Sandhausen. Before that he also played for Mainz 05 II and in youth for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. With a market value of 250,000 euros, the man from Mannheim is now one of the ten most valuable Waldhof professionals.
