Wakeboard: Claudia Pagnini triumphs again at the Red Bull Wake the City

Great show a BergenNorway, for the2025 edition of the Red Bull Wake the Citya unique event in the world that takes place in couples and faces the best athletes of Cable Wakeboard. Compared to the “traditional” version, in which the athlete is towed by a motor boat, in the Cable Wakeboard instead a system of cables suspended on pylons is used, which therefore allow to fly in the area and perform spectacular maneuvers. In Bergen the Italian Claudia Pagnini has conquered the women’s title for the second consecutive time, in pairs with the Spanish Elena Bodi. In the male competition, the American triumphed instead Gavin Stuckey and French Loic Deschaux.

Claudia Pagnini24 years old, is confirmed as an athlete in extraordinary rise: already winner of the Munich Mash and July and the Red Bull Wake the City 2024 in Milwaukee, the rider of Cattolica (Rimini of birth) has already been the Italian first capable of conquering a Cable Wakeboard World Cuphaving triumphed in the “Junior” category in Argentina in 2019, and today it is a point of reference for the world of Italian water sports. In front of the 4000 spectators of the Lingegårdsvannet water mirror of Lille, the Italian-Spanish couple Pagnini-Bodi preceded Jamie Lopina and Marie Rougierwinners of the 2022 edition in Milan. Among the other Italians present the Italian champion Massimiliano “Massi” Piffaretticreator of the format, Nicole Regazzo – fourth with the American Scarborough -,, Riccardo De Tollis and Leonardo Gatti.

The Red Bull Wake the City is a unique event in the Wakeboard panorama: only in this case, in fact, the individual tests are replaced by challenges in pairs, with two riders towed by the same cable, with ropes of different length and Tricks synchronized on the same obstacles. The format It was born in Italy and until 2023 it took place in Milan, in Darsenawelcoming fans from all over the world every year. Then in 2024 he moved to the USA, to Milwaukee, and then arrive in Bergen for the fifth edition.
