1/3 Waiting in line at Eindhoven Airport is more fun with Omroep Brabant
To the left of the queue at Eindhoven Airport is a stall that sells sausage rolls from Brabant. To the right of the row, DJ Dominique Graat is playing nice music on top of a Landrover from Omroep Brabant Radio to make waiting in line a bit more bearable. Brabant cosiness at the busy airport and the travelers, they can appreciate it.
The queue is not too bad on this Monday. Now that the holiday in Brabant has really started, many people are going on a trip. But luckily there is movement in the line of people who don’t want to miss their flight. Popular destinations are holiday countries such as Spain and Italy. But there are people who go to less obvious holiday countries, such as Bulgaria and Lithuania.
“Soon you will be able to sit still long enough on the plane”
Just after half past nine the first sounds are heard. Immediately some people in the line spontaneously start moving to the rhythm of the music. Something that DJ Dominique Graat only encourages: “Soon you will be able to sit still long enough on the plane.”
“Nice, such music in the queue, I’m already getting into the holiday mood, says a man who is ready for a flight to Mallorca. Only a few young men who seem to be recovering from a night out find the music so early a little less: “We still have to wake up.” But the vast majority of travelers think it’s a cool action.
“Normally I never run this early in the morning.”
For DJ Dominique Graat it is also a different way of playing: “Normally I never play so early in the morning.” He tries to amuse young and old with his choice of music and that seems to work.
Next Monday, the DJ will be back at Eindhoven Airport on behalf of Omroep Brabant to ease the pain for those waiting in line.
You can see the action in the video above.
