Keep in mind that you are not the only one who will refuel on that day, because gas station owners are already taking extra crowds into account.
Petrol cheaper after Ukraine war peak
The fact that petrol prices have risen so much in recent weeks has everything to do with the war in Ukraine. Prices are currently soaring that the cabinet recently decided to urgently reduce excise duties on fuel in the Netherlands. Petrol will be 17 cents cheaper per liter and 11 cents per liter of diesel. It is difficult to say how much that makes a difference, because some cars use more fuel than others.
Petrol cheaper: handy calculation
However, you can generally assume that if there is an average of 40 liters in a tank, you should therefore count 40 x € 0.17, which comes down to € 6.80. This means that refueling is approximately € 7 cheaper. So if you plan to refuel, it certainly pays to wait until Friday, when the petrol is cheaper. After all, every euro less is a nice bonus!
