Wagner excels again: Orlando Magic set winning record in the NBA

As of: December 2nd, 2023 8:34 a.m

The winning streak of basketball world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner with the Orlando Magic in the NBA continues. Both played a significant role in the renewed success.

By defeating the Washington Wizards 130:125, the team from Florida set its own franchise record with its ninth success in a row. Franz Wagner stood out as the best thrower of the game with 31 points – his brother Moritz contributed 18 points.

Franz Wagner: “Even the disgusting ones win”

“You also have to win the disgusting games,” said Moritz Wagner after the victory over the basement team from Washington. Despite all the joy, he didn’t want to overstate his team’s impressive run: “Everyone is working very hard, it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s good to see that things are going well, but we have to stay focused. We haven’t achieved anything yet.”

Tenth win for the Nets?

Orlando already has the chance to set a new winning record with ten wins in a row in the away game against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. A tricky task awaits against the midfield team. “It’s always hard to win in this league,” Wagner said.

Setback for Dennis Schröder

National team captain Dennis Schröder, however, suffered a setback in the fight for the play-off places. The development player lost with the Toronto Raptors against German center Isiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks 106:119.

Schröder scored ten points and nine assists – Hartenstein got four points in 16 minutes. Daniel Theis and the Los Angeles Clippers will face former champion Golden State Warriors at 10 p.m. German time.
