On Saturday night, a VW Golf flew out of a curve on Märkische Allee, left its vehicle and fled with its license plate in its luggage. However, he left a message for the police.

A previously unknown driver lost control of his car, most likely due to excessive speed, ran over a lamppost and continued to race across a green verge. The car only came to a standstill after several meters on the meadow.

But instead of calling the police and reporting the accident, the driver fled. Also in the luggage: the number plate of the vehicle. The driver left only a small note in the windshield with a phone number and the words “car being towed away” written on it.

Police launched a search for a potential driver in the area but were unable to locate him. Why the car shot out of the curve is now one of the key questions in the police investigation.
