VVV-Venlo falls hard against Young Ajax: 6-1 | 1Limburg

VVV-Venlo lost hard in Duivendrecht against Young Ajax. The Venlo team ended an entertaining first half with 1-1, but after the break they scored five goals and lost 6-1.

For VVV-Venlo there was nothing more at stake in the game against Young Ajax, although the men of trainer Jos Luhukay had traveled to the Future to deliver a good performance. The Venlo team had the first chance of the match, but goalkeeper Calvin Raaties was able to easily stop Sven Braken’s shot.

Red White
In the initial phase it was red and white what struck the clock. VVV was under pressure and saw Christian Rasmussen hit the crossbar, after which Mohamed Daramy tried to score with a volley. A shot by Naci Unüvar was cracked, but halfway through the first half the team from Amsterdam took the lead through Mohammed Kudus.

The young team from Venlo clearly had no intention of being slaughtered in Amsterdam . The Venlonians not only offered considerable resistance, but also created their own opportunities. A shot by Rasmussen ended up in the hands of Delano van Crooij through the post.

Entertaining duel
Joeri Schroijen was close to his second goal of the evening in the last minutes of the first half, but ran into goalkeeper Raatsie after Sven Braken had played him. Shortly afterwards, Braken decided to try himself in a promising position, but the ball went high over the Amsterdam goal.

Second half
Four minutes after the restart, goalkeeper Van Crooij prevented the Ajax players from taking the lead with a fine reflex on a shot by Mohammed Kudus. Two minutes later he had to get the ball out of the goal when Naci Unüvar shot the ball against the ropes via a Venless leg: 2-1.
Joeri Schroijen was close to the equalizer a few minutes later, but his free kick on the edge of the box went high and that fate also suffered his next attempt.

hat trick
With half an hour to play, Mohamed Ihattaren increased the lead to 3-1 and shortly afterwards he completed a combination with Rasmussen with a goal and VVV-Venlo trailed 4-1. Moments later, Ihattaren scored his third goal of the game. He sailed through the defense as if there were no Venlonians and shot the ball into Van Crooij’s goal: 5-1.

Unüvar saves penalty kick
Ten minutes before the end, referee Nick Smit punished a violation by the people of Venlo by putting the ball on the spot. Unüvar did not fail and converted the penalty.

VVV-Venlo lost 6-1 and lost for the seventh time this season against a reserve team.
