Renate Masselink has been nominated by the VVD as the new councilor in the municipality of Westerveld. She must succeed Roel Vedder, who has indicated that he will stop.
Since 2014, Masselink has been in the faction on behalf of the VVD. She has been party leader for the last six years. In daily life she has her own veterinary practice, but after her appointment as alderman she will largely relinquish those activities.
The VVD describes Masselink as ‘energetic, driven and very familiar with politics in Westerveld’. When she will take over from Vedder will be announced later.
