The best of De Telegraaf
The VVD has ruled the country for over ten years now, with the VVD party leader at the helm. The prime minister’s first job is to keep things together, and to find goat paths whenever a political crisis threatens. He can only do that if he operates above the parties, and rather grants the other coalition partners something extra than his own VVD, and he does that well. The price inevitably paid for it is that the VVD has lost its soul. The only bright spot is that the construction of nuclear power stations is finally being taken seriously, but otherwise it is a sad picture for the VVD.
