VV Emmen can no longer avoid competition

FOOTBALL – vv Emmen can no longer avoid the play-offs in the fight against relegation. Due to the 4-2 defeat at RKAVV in Leidschendam, the gap with the ‘safe’ 12th place is seven points and that with only two games left.

In addition, Emmen still has to look down, since the last SDO has only two points less than the red and whites.

SDO had no chance at HBS this afternoon, where it became 4-0. Emmen actually faced the entire game against a deficit in Leidschendam, which came 1-0 after just one minute. That score remained on the scoreboard for a long time, partly because Jan Jaap Wever missed a penalty after ten minutes.

Ten minutes after the break, RKAVV made it 2-0, after which Patrick Eberhard scored the 2-1. Emmen could not cherish much hope from that, because barely five minutes later it was 4-1 for the home club. Arjan Goeree determined the final score at 4-2 in the 67th minute.

Emmen now knows that it can no longer avoid the playoffs and can now focus on the fight with SDO, which team will be relegated directly. Emmen therefore has two points more than SDO and a considerably better goal difference.
