VV Alkmaar failed to beat competitor Excelsior. The team suffered a defeat at home, 1-3, partly due to a red card for Femke Liefting. Telstar Women traveled to Rotterdam for the confrontation against Feyenoord. The Velsenaren made their first goal after their return, but went down at Varkenoord: 2-1.
VV Alkmaar had one point more than Excelsior prior to the match. However, it was the Rotterdam-squad who took the lead. Precisely Dana Breewel, who went to Rotterdam last summer, made 1-0. Veerle van der Morst tied the score before half time: 1-1.
Mark de Vries’ team played well against Excelsior, until Femke Liefting received a red print. Then it went fast, because four minutes later Kim Remijnse scored an own goal: 1-2. Aisse Gumbs scored the last goal of the evening.
Due to the defeat, Excelsior goes over Alkmaar, which took one point from three matches.
Feyenoord – Telstar Women
For the first time in history, Telstar Women and Feyenoord played against each other. The confrontation started badly for the Velsenaren, after Sanne Koopman (former VV Alkmaar) made 1-0. Not much later, Zoï van de Ven even doubled the score.
Telstar fought back and got a huge head chance via Felice Hermans. Her bet was just taken off the line. Anna van der Vlist scored the first goal after the return in injury time. That turned out not to be enough for a result: 2-1.
Telstar Women is in joint last place with PEC Zwolle and is still scoreless.
