Vuelta, Rui Costa at 36 years old wins the 15th stage

In Lekunberri, in Navarra, the Portuguese from Intemarché beats Kamna and Buitrago, 4th Evenepoel still on the run. Kuss remains leader

Rui Costa won stage 15 of the Vuelta, 158 kilometers from Pamplona to Lekunberri, in Navarra. The 36-year-old Portuguese from Intermarché, 2013 world champion in Florence, beat the German Kamna and the Colombian Buitrago in a narrow sprint, with Remco Evenepoel – still on the run after the success of the day before – fourth at 2 seconds. The general classification remains unchanged: Sepp Kuss leads with 1’37” ahead of Primoz Roglic and 1’44” over Jonas Vingegaard: the American is the favorite at this point to arrive in Madrid in red, 10 years after his compatriot Horner.

THE PROGRAM – On Monday the Vuelta, which will end on Sunday 17th in Madrid, observes the second and final rest day. We start again with stage 16: flat with an uphill finish, 120 kilometers starting from Liencres Playa and finishing in Bejes, 4.9 kilometers of climb at 8.5%.
