The countries of the European Union (EU) demand that Serbia join the sanctions against Russia, while they themselves refuse restrictive measures against Russian oil and gas. About it declared Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in an interview with Prva TV.
“What do you want from Serbia? Impose sanctions against Russia? And why didn’t you introduce gas and oil?” – he said.
Vucic also said that Serbia is an independent state that is not part of the European Union. However, the head of state admitted that the EU could impose sanctions against Serbia for refusing to impose anti-Russian sanctions.

After the start of Russia’s special operation on the territory of Ukraine, Vučić stated that Serbia would not impose sanctions against Russia, despite the fact that it supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
