VTI students create war memorial for fallen…

The memorial depicts two planes flying away from each other. The students worked on it for 5 months. This morning the Ambassador of New Zealand came to their workshop to thank them for the tribute.

The monumental work is the result of a class project and will soon be given a place of honor at the cemetery in Eernegem in the spring. The VTI students have completely reconstructed the story of the two pilots. In 1943, two pilot friends, Baker and Thomson, were shot down in their fighter planes.
