They allege that it goes against articles 2 and 9.1 of the Constitution and article 4 and 20 of the Regulations of Congress

vox has submitted to the Boards of Congress and the Senate two letters in which it requests that the promises of compliance with the Constitution of the parliamentarians of CKD, together and bildu for using formulas in Basque and Catalan and for referring to the Catalan and Basque republics.

It also requests that the compliances made by some members of Sumar in Congress be declared null and void, such as the third vice president of the Lower House, Esther Gil, and that of the senator from Más Madrid, Carla Antonelli, who did so “against the speeches of hate, LGBTIphobia and transphobia”.

According to the formation of Santiago Abascal, who already complained during the constitutive session, these writings have been presented considering that these formulas are “far from legality and of the very purpose of compliance with the Constitution”.

In this context, they motivate their writing that these compliances go “against ordinary parliamentary legality”, specifically “against articles 2 and 9.1 of the Constitution and article 4 and 20 of the Regulations of Congress”, which, as they explain, ” make it clear that those formulas that are unintelligible or that empty, limit or condition the proper meaning of said compliance are not valid”.

take the oath again

For this reason, they ask that these promises be declared invalid and that, therefore, these deputies and senators have not acquired the full status of parliamentarians and they are also required to “take an oath or promise not conditioned and respectful of the constitutional text.

Already during the plenary session of the constitutive session on Thursday, August 17, the new spokesperson for Vox in Congress, Pepa Rodríguez de Millán, complained to the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, about the formula used by these pro-independence parties.
