Voting for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: Choose your dream DFB team!

National coach Hansi Flick has called up 26 players for the German national team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Vote now in the big sport.de voting: Who belongs in the starting XI? Who has to go to the bank?

Three goalkeepers and 23 field players: Hansi Flick has announced the squad for the World Cup finals in Qatar (November 20 to December 18). When putting together his squad, the national coach had to make several difficult decisions.

One of them was leaving Mats Hummels, who was in good form recently, at home. “He’s in excellent form and is in great shape, but for us it’s more of a look into the future,” said Flick.

Before the German national team’s first World Cup game against Japan (November 23), we want to know: Which of the 26 national players would you like to see in the starting XI? Who belongs on the bench?

sport.de then publishes the results of the survey and selects the fans’ favorite DFB team.

At the controversial tournament in the desert, Flick primarily relies on Antonio Rüdiger, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck and Matthias Ginter for central defence. “We have four central defenders of enormous quality,” said Flick.

Thilo Kehrer and Armel Bella Kotchap are also available for the position in the central defense.

In midfield, Mario Götze, World Cup hero from 2014, can once again provide “flashes of inspiration”. The Eintracht Frankfurt professional made his last international match in 2017.

Completely new to the DFB squad, however, are Niclas Füllkrug from Werder Bremen and BVB youngster Youssoufa Moukoko, two attackers who are supposed to replace the injured Timo Werner.

Traditionally, the largest block in the World Cup squad is FC Bayern, which has seven players. BVB is represented by five national players. Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and SC Freiburg each send two players to Qatar for Germany. Six DFB players earn their money abroad.
