Voss-Tecklenburg has to delete five names

National soccer coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg will announce her final squad for the European Championship next Saturday.

At the end of the current course in Herzogenaurach, five players will find out that they are not part of the 23-man squad for the title hunt in England (July 6th to 31st).

“Of course, the competition is always great here, nobody can be too sure,” said Lena Lattwein (22 / VfL Wolfsburg) in a media round on Monday about the last round of the European Championship casting. The atmosphere is not suffering from the tension, the midfielder assured, but: “Everyone wants to play the tournament, that’s a fact.”

As a seasoned player, Lina Magull (FC Bayern) takes the situation in a sporty manner. “That pushes everyone even more to get the best performance out of training,” said the 27-year-old, who has a good chance of a regular place in midfield.

From next week (June 21 to 29) the final training camp including the dress rehearsal against Switzerland in Erfurt (June 24) will take place in Herzogenaurach. On July 3, the two-time world and eight-time European champion travels to the EURO base camp in London. In Group B of the European Championship, the DFB team meets Denmark (July 8), Spain (July 12) and Finland (July 16).
