Verbeurgt now receives that right of inspection, but “time is limited,” he says in a response to HLN. “I want to get answers to additional questions before the summer, but I have to submit them by Friday evening at the latest.” That is why the opposition member will consult the list next night, because he simply has too much other parliamentary work during the day. The Vooruit member of parliament has been putting the Flemish government on the grid about the file for weeks because he thinks “it is important that the government knows what it spends money on”. “This government says no to everything. Investment in education? No. Investment in healthcare? No. They now appear to have money for consultancy, but how much exactly? That remains unclear,” denounces Verbeurgt, who will now check the invoices “line by line”. “This is not a way of working, but I want to do everything I can to get clarity.”
