Vooruit Bredene is campaigning for an ATM

The activists even braved the rain, because the need is great. Anyone who lives there has to rely on Bredene-Duinen to get cash. This concerns thousands of people who do not have access to an ATM. The residents of Breden believe that there is an urgent need for additional cash collection points in their municipality.

Despite all the insistence of local residents, nothing has changed yet. They have to rely on the cash register of the local store for some cash. Of course, that’s just an emergency solution. The municipal council has also contacted the major banks several times, but without results.

Mayor Steve Vandenberghe is also not keen on investing in an ATM himself. “We have a limited support base and cannot do all of this ourselves. It would easily amount to around 200,000 to 300,000 euros. Then you have to ask yourself: should we do the work of the banks with the tax money? We will take So our responsibility is to continue to put pressure on the banks. We are on the side of our residents and will continue to do so,” Vandenberghe said.
