The terrible earthquakes in Turkey – they also have an impact on sport. All events have been cancelled, including the BR Volleys Champions League game in Ankara.

The German champion had already passed passport and security control at BER Airport on Monday when the cancellation came at around 4 p.m. an hour before departure. Manager Kaweh Niroomand (70): “There was a video link with the European association in which all clubs were asked not to enter Turkey.”

It then took almost three hours before the luggage was unloaded again and the Berliners officially “entered” Germany again. Niroomand: “It is deeply understandable that Turkey is canceling everything. How things will continue in terms of sport will be decided in the next few days.”
