Poland’s volleyball players won the title at the European Championships for the second time after 2009. In the final in Rome, the Poles beat defending champions Italy 3-0 (25:20, 25:21, 25:23).
Slovenia secured third place with a 3-2 win against Olympic champions France. The German volleyball players lost 2-3 against the Netherlands in the round of 16 and were eliminated.
