Volleyball players conquer Netherlands

The German volleyball players got their second victory in the Nations League.

The team of national coach Vital Heynen won on Tuesday (local time) in Brasilia against the Netherlands 3:1 (25:20, 25:19, 12:25, 25:22). The Germans now have a record of two wins and three defeats.

Best German attacker against the Netherlands was Hanna Orthmann with 23 points. The team started without the exceptional player Louisa Lippmann, who switched to beach volleyball. “We lost our rhythm a bit in the third set, I was glad we found it again,” said Orthmann. The next game is on Friday (local time) again in Brasilia against Italy.

In the Nations League, the top 16 teams in the world for men and women play against each other at three venues over six weeks. After twelve games per team, the eight best teams advance to the final round. The games in this Nations League are important for the world rankings.
