The team of national coach Vital Heynen defeated hosts Canada in Calgary 3:1 (25:19, 19:25, 27:25, 25:23). In the preliminary round on Sunday (10:00 p.m.) Germany meets Olympic champion and leader USA.
The competition brings points for the world rankings and is also considered an endurance test on the way to the World Championships, which take place from September 23rd to October 15th in the Netherlands and Poland.
