MTV Stuttgart has secured the title in the women’s volleyball national league. The fourth game in Potsdam was a 3-1 win.
The volleyball players from Stuttgart followed suit the clear 3-0 win in the third game last Wednesday hard to come into play. The women from Potsdam were initially the better team and won the first round with 25:20.
In the second set, MTV came into play much better and quickly took a 6:1 lead. The team managed by Faruk Feray was able to keep the lead over 10:5 and 12:7. The seriously ill coach Tore Aleksandersen had traveled to Potsdam, but left the coaching to his assistant. With more stability in the block and more consistency in attack, Stuttgart continues to pull away and clearly won the round with 25:12.

And the Swabians stayed on the trigger. In the third round, the women from Stuttgart were also stable and prevailed with 25:19. In the fourth set, a thriller developed in which neither team was able to break away. After Eline Timmerman had won a point, MTV had two match points (24:22), but Potsdam was able to fend off both of them. On the fourth attempt, however, the time had come: Krystal Rivers redeemed Stuttgart and its noisy supporters and caused a storm of jubilation in the Potsdam Arena. Tore Aleksandersen, who was ill, also rushed onto the floor to celebrate with his team.
The 3:1 victory in the final series against Potsam meant Allianz MTV Stuttgart’s title defense. The champion of 2022 now prevailed in 2023 and deservedly celebrates the German championship. The Stuttgart team will spend the night after the triumph in Potsdam, returning to Stuttgart on Sunday.
