DFB sports director Rudi Völler has once again given German football fans hope for a successful home European Championship and, like national coach Julian Nagelsmann, is not ruling out the return of Toni Kroos.
Because of the “wonderful top coach” Nagelsmann and the quality of the team, he was “optimistic” before the European Championships in the summer, said Völler on “Sky”.
The 63-year-old promised that there would be “not only the will,” “but also the desire and the joy, because the players definitely have qualities.” In the group stage, hosts Germany will face Scotland, Switzerland and Hungary.
Until they are nominated, all German players would have the chance to show themselves. “The train hasn’t left for anyone, that doesn’t just apply to Toni Kroos,” said Völler, he qualified with a view to the 2014 world champion: “Surely we all know that Toni has a position in which we are not the greatest We’re very well staffed there.
